Spaghetti Carbonara



PASTA!! I'm a pasta lover! No matter what its kind, i just love it! Carbonara is my favorite sauce for pasta. It is alfredo sauce added with whole egg. Here is my own recipe. Caused by my love on it, i searched for the recipe and tried cook it but depend on my desire of the ingredients. I'm using packed pasta instead of fresh pasta due to time and also it is easier. Here for the recipe, it is really easy to make. Have fun.


Spaghetti Carbonara
*1-2portions


Ingredients :
- 150-200grams dry pasta ( any kind )
- 1 onion
- dry leaf special for pasta
- 50grams fillet ( chicken, fish, ham, sausage, etc )
- 200ml cooking cream
- 1 whole egg
- 3tbsp olive oil
- salt, sugar, pepper


Metodes:
1. Cook pasta according to the package, al dante. Drain.
2. Finely chop onion.
3. Cut fillet into dice shape.
4. Heat olive oil, sweat the onion.
5. Put in fillet, cook till well done or crispy.
6. Pour cooking cream, put on low heat.
7. add seasoning and dry leaf as much as your wish.
8. cook till boil, then put in al dante pasta, stir till well-combine.
9. Off the heat.
10. Put in egg and stir quickly till combined.
11. serve 


Tips :
1. if you want more cheesy, add cheese together with putting seasoning
2. if want spicy, put some chillies in the sauce.

Creamy Butter Pork !!!

Butter chicken rice, who don't know about this meal, everybody surely knows it. It's an indian cuisine and the taste similar to curry taste. How about butter chicken in chinese cuisine? have you ever tasted it? First time I tasted it when I am at Malaysia to pursue my study. It basically is Malaysian cuisine, the chinese malaysian who found the recipe. I was falling in love when it entered my mouth for the first time. Sweet,  spicy, savory, fragrant, it's perfect! Because of my love on this meal, I got robbed when wanted to buy it :( Luckily none of my things lost. There was pull-tug battle between me and the robber, and i was the winner. yeahhh *dancing

I'm not dare to go to that place anymore. However, i'm really love its taste, how? :( Therefore, I  opened google and searched for butter chicken recipe, all was the indian cuisine. Then i typed butter chicken chinese,  finally 2 recipe of them appeared and i chose one of the best depended on me. No need spend a lot of money to eat this anymore, no need afraid to get rob, can eat as much as i want. I can cook it by own and its really easy to make! yihaaaa *breakdance

First of my trial. I was looking for no-bone chicken in my refrigerator, sadly no more. The last of chicken has been cooked for ' Sweet&Sour Chicken ' for my brother dinner. However, this problem didn't make me stop, searched for other meat and luckily there was pork! Thus, that why the tittle is butter pork :b and also i changed the coating into flour for tempura, because its nearly to expire and don't want anything is wasted in my kitchen. I love spicy, so i added some chilies in the sauce. 




Creamy Butter Chicken
( Recipe by BitsOfTaste )*

Ingredients:
- 3 pcs Chicken Keel
- One handful of curry leaves
- 1 tbsp butter

Coating:
- 1/4 cup plain flour
- 1/4 cup corn flour / tapioca flour
- 2 eggs, beaten

Seasonings:
- 400ml Evaporated milk
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt



Methods:
1. Combine plain flour & corn flour in a bowl. 
2. Beat up eggs in a separate bowl. Add a pinch of salt.
3. Dry chicken keel with towel.
4. Heat up oil in a deep oil. Coat chicken keel with eggs, then flour.
5. Deep fry in low fire until golden brown. Set aside & let cool.
6. Heat up butter in a non-stick pan, add curry leaves. Saute till fragrant.
7. Add in evaporated milk, simmer in low fire till milk is thicken.
8. Add in sugar and salt. 
9. Chop chicken keel into big slices. Pour milk onto chicken.
10. Serve hot.



Bits of Taste tips:
• If you prefer cheesy taste, add in a slice of cheddar cheese in the sauce.
• Fry chicken in low heat until chicken is cooked. Use a skewer to prick on the thickest part to test is the chicken is fully cooked.
• Simmer milk in low heat and stir gently so that milk will be smooth and creamy.

A day before CNY ♡

Happy chinese new year eve!!! Chinese new year always identical  with orange and red color.  Red color in chinese tradition means happiness. So, we're hoping happiness will come to our family in this new year. :D This year we didn't have 30meh, 29meh directly jump to che1 *chinese calendar . Therefore we had our dinner on 29meh. This year my family had a dinner at Duck King restaurant with my sister RaaFeng's BF family. 6 members from my family and 5 members from him, so 11 in one table.

Here the photos of the dishes, i didn't take all the photos. The fried rice and steamed fish. I don't have the photo for the last one meal because the restaurant also didn't gave it for us, after finished the 9th meal they said finished already. On that time, i went to the restroom so i didn't know it. When i backed from restroom, I thought they ate finished already the yam puff. I just knew it when I asked my mom about the last meal taste. Pity on us :( :(

The first dish, we must combine all the meal together until well-combined. The Mc said the higher we pull them up, the higher fortune will come. Look at this picture, they all busied to pull up pull down and me busied to take the photo. hahaha. The right corner is the dish after combined.

For the third dish, it looks alike with shark fin soup, but it wasn't. Because shark nearly to extinct because all people hunt their fin due to of its price, it's quite expensive. For the taste its really similar.

After had our dinner, we backed to our home. My home is just back of temple. So, we directly went to the temple after my daddy parked our car and we changed our shoes, especially me. I can't imagine go to temple with 12cm high-heel :/
Just arrived we immediately went in the place of statue and for pray, took candle with lotus shape and donated as much as we wanted. Sticked with all of our wishing, me the most one :b almost full.

After finished, we went to the opposite. They're selling flying lanterns. Basically, we write our wishes on the lantern and fly them up. My wish just same with the above one on the wishing card. Wishing me and my second sister can continue study until in France. Wish! Hope! Pray!

Takigawa & meat bar

  


Japanese food, who don't like it, whereas me is japanese food lover. Takigawa & new bar, the new japanese restaurant just opened in my hometown. Pre-launching on January 19th 2012. Today, my friends as well as my sister friends suggested us to eat there cause we never been there and also wanted to know about their taste. All medanese said tasteless and expensive. In my notion, it's right the foods are tasteless if compare with the other japanese restaurant in my hometown and the price i think it's not really expensive. I went there with RiaFeng , IreneHusin and VickySeptian was the james bond. Takigawa got 2 dining room, outdoor and indoor. Actually we wanted eat at outdoor, yet the weather in Medan is really hot during noon, so we decided just ate in indoor, more comfortable with AC.
Actually we also ordered ' chukha wakame ' but when it arrived on our table, we directly ate it and forgot to take the photo :( *it's delicious btw.

Strawberry Pie ♥

January, 15th 2012. The day of my bf's young brother ' Brian sudirmin ' birthday. Last year i can't come to his birthday party due to i went to my friend sweet17th birthday party. I was giving him 1 t'shirt and 1 polo shirt by Levi's. This year, i confused on what to give for him, so i decided giving him strawberry pie seeing that he really obsessed with the fruit named " STRAWBERRY " . Don't know why, he didn't celebrate his birthday party, therefore i gave the pie the day after. 

My bf said if i want to meet with him, i must go there at 12 to 1 am. Unfortunately, i woke at 11.30am :( My house is farfaraway from his house, people said north to south that taking time an hour if driving at noon. But his brother's staying with his grandma and her house just only need an half hour by driving. 1 and an half hours didn't enough of taking bath, doing hair, making face, choosing clothes, lunch and the time of driving of 2 persons, me and my sister. I planned to just giving it to his brother then i'll going to tailor to minimize my clothes, buying anything snacks for chinese new year and go to TeddyHouse to buying new clothes for my teddy and my sister's. Next time i will posting story about our teddy. Soon.

Black Bottom Strawberry Cream Pie 
( Recipe from 100cafestreet )*

Ingredients:
- 1 Pillsbury® refrigerated pie crust (from 15-oz box), softened as directed on box
- 2/3 cup hot fudge topping
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 pint (2 cups) strawberries, quartered
- 1/2 cup strawberry pie glaze
- 1/2 cup whipping (heavy) cream, whipped, if desired
Methods :
1. Heat oven to 450°F. Make pie crust as directed on box for One-Crust Baked Shell using 9-inch glass pie pan. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
2. Spread hot fudge topping in bottom of cooled baked shell. Refrigerate 1 hour.
3. In small bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Carefully spread over chocolate layer in shell.
4. In medium bowl, gently mix strawberries and pie glaze. Spoon evenly over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
5. Just before serving, pipe or spoon whipped cream around edge of pie. Store in refrigerator.


Since in my hometown doesn't sell refrigerated pie crust, i made it from my sister RiaFeng's recipe that she obtained from our university. Here for the recipe. 


Pie Crust


Ingredients :
- 250grams pastry flour
- 25grams sugar
- pinch of salt
- 125grams butter
- 1 egg yolk
- 50grams water


Methods :
1. shift flour combined with all the items 
2. rub butter into flour with finger tips until sandy texture
3. make a well in the middle and add in egg yolk and water. toss lightly with fingers until liquid is well distributed. bring the dough together without kneading too much.
4. wrap and rest for 30minutes in chiller
5. roll it till 3mm thickness and apply to the pie pan



For the strawberry glaze, i did it very simple. Just chunk the strawberry then add with sugar and cook them till becomes syrup. No need to add water, because the strawberry will burst out liquid. The sugar is depend on how sweet you want :)

Heat of the day



Thursday, 19th January 2012 at 08.30am I opened my eyes from my lated sleep at 4am due to my 2 sisters conversation, didn't know what are they talking but they're voice could make me awakened from my sounded sleep. Slept for only 4 and an half hours really makes me sleepy all along the day. Depart from home at 11.15am went to my brother's school Methodist2 to take his exam results' book. It's my first going in there. I ever been there before, but only went to their canteen from back door of the canteen accompanying my friend to take something from her friend. Promptly in the midday, I arrived there with my sister. The sun shone right on our skins when we walked from the car park to the school, yeah it's really hot!

From here we directly went to cafe bistro 061 to have our lunch with my friend VickySeptian. He just came back from Jakarta maybe 3days ago. Sadly, the cafe operate at 3pm. Traffic jam everywhere, so we decided to have our lunch at TipTop restaurant, 10meters walked from cafe. TipTop has been established since 1934 and they also well-knowed in my hometown. TipTop serves various western, indonesian & chinese cuisine also Ice cream and their tasty home made cakes. They had 2 big dinning rooms, Ac room and non-AC room.
